01Approach

An iterative design system, not a linear one.

AexionQ was set up to achieve optimal project outcomes through a holistic approach to construction-related professional services — early involvement of every relevant discipline, so that diverse perspectives and expertise are leveraged from the start.

i.

Rejects linear planning. Adopts an iterative system that considers the continuous interactions between disciplines.

ii.

Emphasises the connections between the disciplines and improves communication between professionals and stakeholders.

iii.

Takes decisions jointly by all participants, not sequentially down a chain of consultants.

iv.

Greater investment of time and energy in the initial design phase, for better coordination of subsequent phases.

v.

Brings budget control and engineering valuation in from the initial stages — giving clear options on the cost impact of design decisions before they are taken.

02What we coordinate

The disciplines we pull together.

AexionQ is not itself a fire, M&E, architectural or QS practice. It is the entity that assembles those practices around a project, runs the team, holds the contract, and gives the client a single point of accountability across all of them.

Integrated Design Team Assembly

The right specialist firms put together for the specific project — architecture, engineering services, structural, QS, fire and life safety, conservation. Contracted in by Aexion and managed as one team.

04Outcome

What the model delivers, in three lines.

i. One contract.

The client contracts with AexionQ. We hold the design team, the document control, and the accountability. The client does not chase a roomful of separate consultants for an answer.

ii. Early integration.

The fire engineer is in the room with the architect, the M&E engineer, the QS and the structural engineer from the first design meeting — not three stages later when the geometry is fixed.

iii. Fewer surprises on site.

Greater investment up front means coordinated documentation at tender, fewer RFIs in construction, and a measurable reduction in remedial or abortive works late in the programme.
